Last month, an article from MoneyWise came out showing that women have overtaken men in homeownership! I saw that coming years ago, as more of my single buyers were women than men. In addition, women on average live longer, adding to this stat, and certainly showed up in my clientele:

Single men in the US now own fewer homes than single women — despite women earning $0.83 for every dollar men earn. Here's why this 'reverse gap' exists and what it means for you (msn.com)

A quick survey of my clients the last 3 years show 7 single women buyers vs 6 single men, and 18 couples; and 14 single women sellers vs 5 single men, and 23 couples. The National REALTORS Association graph:

Love (and Home Buying) Brings Us Together: Married vs. Unmarried Couples in the Housing Market (nar.realtor)

goes back to 1981, and shows single women out-purchasing men every year for 40 years, and increasing the distance from 1% more in 1981, to 8% more today. Couples still outnumber singles almost 3 to 1 nationally, although my clients run a closer margin than the national graph, less than 2 to 1.

"No one place more completely embodies the American experience than St. Louis"

Wow - that packs quite a statement! From Forbes magazine:

Forbes: St. Louis 'completely embodies the American experience' (fox2now.com)

This was stated by a Forbes article regarding our fine metro and its current Counterpublic 2023 art display, the largest public art exhibition of its kind in the country, that opened April 15 and runs thru July 15. There are 30 commissioned artworks spread out along Jefferson Avenue along a 6 mile stretch from South city to North city, telling stories about St Louis history along the way. The last Counterpublic art initiative was in 2019, and they plan to repeat every 3 years. Much of the art will remain permanently in St Louis.
