The city of Manchester maintains our streets, sidewalks, and storm sewer systems. If you notice a street in need of repair or any other infrastructure item that the city should be aware of, please notify the Department of Public works by phone or e-mail, 636-227-1385 or <publicworks@manchestermo.gov>
Did you know that the city also has a Lateral Sewer insurance program? If you suspect a problem with your sewer between your house and the street, call city hall at 636-227-1385. They have a form to fill out and require a $750 deposit. A camera will be run thru the sewer to verify the problem. If it's eligible (tree roots are not covered, nor lines under the structure), the program covers the cost after the inital $750 up to $6000, with certain restrictions.
Broken water line? If you suspect a leaking water line between your house and the street (yes, that's your responsibility also), St Louis County has a Water Service Line Repair Program that may protect you. This began in July 2001. The first step is to call the Water Co. at 866-430-0820. They will come out to verify the leak and give you a Repair Notice. You then take this form to St Louis County in Clayton to complete an application there. If you are eligible, there should be no cost for this repair. For more information, call 314-615-8420.
